Projektbeschreibung:


The Organization

Founded in 1998, this NGO is responsible for creating individuals and groups responsible for the administration of their own enterprises, making them Entrepreneurs and Administrators, agents of their social and economic change.
Their mission is promoting human and community development, aiming the strech of the capacity of organization of groups and communities through management of the own community and productive learning.
The institution considers the human potencial the key for action and intends to strengthen the projects with the help of the own community members and local institutions, gaining autonomy and sustainability.
The Project Escola aims to educate prospective community leaders and public managers in Social Management techniques (planning, management, quality control and evaluation) to improve the quality of the social services they provide.
In 2006, NGO achieved the mark of 3 graduated classes.
The graduate students draw a project and had to mantain it by argument toward a teachers’ comittee (evaluators) . The projects had to satisfy local needs of the communities they would be applied in, The students made field work to explore the communities and identify the main problems the project would asssist. It was a compulsory requirement from the teachers’ comittee that all projects had an approach with other public innitiatives and icorporate Human Rights issues.
In October, 2007 new classes were opened , attendeding 60 students among community leaders and third sector professionals. The current classes are planned to graduate in In December, 2008.

What will the volunteer do?

The volunteer should work in the NGO working hours, which is from 9:00 a.m. till 18:00 p.m. including lunch break.
With his culturally diverse background, the foreign volunteers will act as additional sets of eyes and ears to the main Educators in charge of the the project.

The tasks and responsibilities to be taken by the volunteers are:

Assisting the Educators team in recruiting community leaders and other talent to compose new classes;

Assisting with students relations;

Committee facilitation and participation

Assisting with the day-to-day efficient operation of the project

Assisting with the development of procedures and guidelines to help align the Educational content with the strategic goals of the project.

• Assists with the tracking of project measurements goals.
