KCAT runs a full-time and part-time (2 days a week) VEC Art course for people with and without special needs.
A part-time (2 days a week) Theatre Performance course, which aims to cover a broad range of aspects of theatre.
The KCAT Studio ( 5 days) in which artists with special needs are supported in their professional development by professional mentor artists artist. They regularly hold solo and group exhibitions of their work in Ireland and abroad and take on individual and group commissions.
In its second year, the Thursday Open Group (1 day) is suitable for self-motivated artists and those with an arts education background, wishing to develop their own individual work in a shared environment. An experienced KCAT tutor facilitates the group.
A Theatre Troupe (2 days), that runs along the same principles as the KCAT Studio; where students who have completed the Theatre Performance Course are able to further their professional development.
One day Course on Mondays: This course is a foundation course in basic art skills and is suitable for those wishing to develop or improve their proficiency in Drawing, Painting and Sculpture.
Different themes that are essential to KCAT are Education, Service, Inclusion, Art, Possibility for growth and development

Callan is a rural town on the main road between Kilkenny City and Clonmel. More than 700 new houses are built or planned and it is expected that the population could be as high as 2500 by 2010.KCAT is located in the heart of the town, facing a car park and and a ruined 15th century Abbey, both beside the King's River. This area is in the early stages of becoming a Town Square and Park, with KCAT being a central cultural resource.

Volunteers would be involved generally from 9-5 on weekdays, with occasional hours outside of these for special events.
