We are looking for anenthusiastic volunteer age 22 to 28 committed to work on a challenging, butrewarding position. Candidates must have knowledgein marketing and PR. Candidates also need to be fluent in English and have excellentwriting skills. Ideally they should be ex-participants from one of theAFS-programs or have worked for AFS on a voluntary basis - or else should havethat background from a similar organisation (not mandatory!) Furthermore candidates shouldbring with them:• Computer literacy• Commitment, spirit and asense of humour• Ability to workindependently• and the willingness towork on evenings or weekends


AFS Interculture South Africa offers school and voluntary service programs to participants from the international AFS partner network and to young South Africans. To foster the visibility of AFS as an intercultural learning organisation and to help build the foundation for a prosperous future of AFS South Africa, we are looking for a young professional to work at the AFS office in Johannesburg for a 12-month internship as project coordinator in the field of marketing.

Tasks will include:
• Contact and work with language schools, high schools, teacher associations, etc.
• Research alumni and build up an alumni database
• Coordinate and support volunteer activities in the fields of marketing.
• Help coordinate the 50th anniversary celebration of AFS South Africa
• Mailings and press reports
• Communicate AFS South Africa as an intercultural learning organization
• Help develop and implement a marketing plan

The position will be an office job (one Position in Jo-Burg and one in Pietermaritzburg), but will also include visiting schools and other multipliers. Normal working-hours and holidays apply. International flights, lodging, board, pocket money (100 € per month) and insurance will be paid for, as well as trips related to work. The “weltwärts” program includes comprehensive preparation and re-integration seminars.
