No previous experience or special skills are required
Participants need to be enthusiastic, willing to learn, ready for a challenge and have a desire to work with children. Friendliness, care, commitment and patience are also important qualities.
Take delight in the children’s progress through interaction and play, as well as the charming nature of the bonds formed between children and volunteers. Some knowledge of Spanish language is required if you teach math or science.
Previous teaching experience is helpful but not necessary. Staff and other volunteers will support you when you start teaching. It is best to come with ideas and enthusiasm, take initiative and dedicate a lot of creativity to the position.

Projektbeschreibung:
Community projects are waiting for enthusiastic Volunteers and Interns

SIGN UP FOR YOUR FAVORITE ACTIVITY!
Find out if you have a preference for one or the other activity within the Youth, Community & Nature program. If you wish to combine different activities or want to specialize in a particular one we will do our best to accommodate your personal preferences! We are constantly adapting our activities to weather patterns, children's needs and volunteer numbers and capacities. Whether your skills lie in music, sports, riding, drama, art or hands-on work - We can offer you a unique chance to implement your own ideas, while giving you valuable experience and realizing personal ambitions and goals.

ENHANCE THE LIVES OF CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS
We cannot pretend to remedy serious social and economic conditions but our volunteers and interns in Santa Elena have plenty of opportunities to make a difference to young people who would otherwise lack educational and creative opportunities. Volunteers and Interns are welcome to bring their own ideas for projects or help out with already-established projects.

PROGRAM ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:
Teach English, Music & Art
Ecological Hands-on work
Environmental Conservation
Horse Riding for children
Create your own project

Form your own schedule!
Every volunteer and intern has the opportunity to be involved in as many or as few activities they would like. We encourage volunteers to form schedules which work for them, and to work in any combination of activities. Volunteers decide how many hours they want to work. We recommend a minimum 3 days a week but you may work as much as 5 days and as many hours you wish. However, we emphasize that we focus on excellence and not on quantity.

POSSIBLE ACTIVITIES:
- Teaching and tutoring English, math or science classes
- Organizing ocasional special educational events
