The project:
AFS Programas Interculturales Colombia provides intercultural learning and volunteer opportunities for students, young adults, teachers and families through international exchange. AFS is one of the world’s largest not-for-profit volunteer based organizations. It offers international exchange programs in over 50 countries through local AFS organizations, each with a network of volunteers, a professionally staffed office, and headed up by a volunteer board. AFS International provides worldwide leadership, coordination, support, quality control and development of AFS organizations and programs.

AFS evolved from its origins as a group of volunteer ambulance drivers, in 1914. Today it’s the most experience international organization of student exchanges worldwide, with a global network of 56 countries and annually mobilizes more than 10,000 participants around the world.

AFS is assisted by a network of more than 100,000 volunteers (exparticipantes, families, schools, institutions, friends, corporations), constituting as one of the largest volunteer organizations in the world.

Particulary in COLOMBIA, AFS was founded in 1959 and since then offers both famililias volunteers as young Colombians the opportunity to live a rich intercultural experience. Currently Colombia has 12 local chapters and keeps on promoting Peace through differences tolerance.

Volunteers Tasks:
- Support during field trips. One bird’s observation activity is done monthly.
- Conduction of conferences and workshops about the volunteer’s knowledge and experience with ornithology.

Working Schedule:
The working schedule would be flexible, depending on the volunteer facilities.
Usually it would be: Monday-Friday Morning hours.
One weekend per month for the bird’s observation activity.
