Voraussetzungen:
It does not require special preparation, but it is important that the volunteer likes working with animals (even sometimes there is some dirty work). If the volunteer doesn’t know how to do the job he would be teached.


Projektbeschreibung:


Fundación Zoológica de Cali (Centro de Atención de Fauna Silvestre) is an environmental nature thematic park, which offers a unique experience of contact with Colombian’s natural and cultural richness. It promotes and implements education programs, outreach, recreation and research for conserving biodiversity and developing environmental awareness in Colombian people. Cali´s Zoo is committed towards providing quality services in all areas. The challenge of the Fundacion Zoologico de Cali has been to become a center for the conservation of wildlife and ecosystem for Colombians.

Aims and themes of the volunteers activity:

- Support in veterinarian activities.

Tasks of the volunteer:

Feeding Animals, Cleaning the places were animals’ live, Office work (animal register in the zoo data base).

Area of work: Environmental protection/ resource protection

Working method:
Depends on the experience and knowledge of the volunteer he can make different jobs.

Working Schedule:
Work days: Monday-Friday: 7 am to 5 pm.
Saturday: 5 hours, usually mornings.

It’s expected that the volunteer is a responsible person who supports the activities of the Centro de Attention de Fauna Silvestre-CAFS (Center of Attention of Wildlife Care –CAFS). There is lots of work and sometimes not enough time. Usually there is 1 veterinarian, 1 nurse, 3 caregivers, and sometimes 1 or 2 students Veterinarian interns.
