English conversational skills.
Basic Portugiesische knowledgment
Volunteers should be iterested in and able to seek information about people, thingsand ideas;
Intellectual curiosity and creativity are fundamental traits.Research and communication skills are essential;
Power to influence, motivate, and train others is desirable;
Objectivity, open-mindedness and systematic work habits are important.


Projektbeschreibung:


The Organization

Founded in 1998, this NGO is responsible for creating individuals and groups responsible for the administration of their own enterprises, making them Entrepreneurs and Administrators, agents of their social and economic change.
Their mission is promoting human and community development, aiming the strech of the capacity of organization of groups and communities through management of the own community and productive learning. The institution considers the human potencial the key for action and intends to strengthen the projects with the help of the own community members and local
institutions, gaining autonomy and sustainability.
The Social Inclusion Office Project pretends to develop the central area of São Paulo, at the District of Bom Retiro, on it’s cultural, social and economical aspects, contributing to citizenship access and the welfare of 1050 vulnerable families, through integrated community activities which help them to develop their emancipation.

The specific objectives of this Project are:

Monitor 1050 families from Bom Retiro and implement a Local Comission to construct the Local Development Plan;
Implement a Foment Core to Inclusive Production, focusing on public space as a basic requirement for citizenship exercise, strenghten the population to interfere and contribute to significative changes at their lives;
Develop worshops acording to the community interests, linking them to sustentability and enterpreneuship;
Create debate spaces about urban civility, capable of makingchanges, commitments and a more respectful and productive living
Promote youngster integration trhough cultural and educational methods and include them in qualifications process, which contributes to their professional lives;
Create a Governmental and Non-Governamental Programs Service Guide;
Promote actions that contribute to the strenghten of their social and cultural local identity, allowing self-knowledgment to develop their local capacities;
Coordinate social and educational meetings integrated with the Foment Core to Inclusive Production;
Incentivate enterpreneuship and promote meetings, debates and guides about community interests subjetcs.

What will the volunteer do?

Volunteers are expected to act as instructors, help-desks, mentors and social workers.

There is a wide range of activities they can assist in:

Customer Service: including customer-oriented telephone and email/chat abilities that respond quickly, competently and patiently to customer requests.
Problem solving: gathering information about community interests and day to day running of their social, economical and political representativity; evaluating options and suggesting viable solutions for improving citzenship education.
Technical support in Digital Inclusion programs: understanding the overall systems environment, such as system maintenance, workstation support, internet connectivity, as well as the specific products in use.
Training and education: presenting technical information to non-technical audiences, designing and delivering instructional training.
Community Approach: perceiving local needs and new demands from the public attended to bring issues for discussion and recommend actions to drive the project.
